Nik Kershaw is a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter and English record producer born in Bristol on March 1, 1958.

Very popular in the United Kingdom, where 8 of his singles have reached the top 40, he will also obtain some success in France, including his hits Would not It Be Good and The Riddle, in the mid-1980s.

Nicholas David Kershaw was born in Bristol, England on March 1, 1958. He grew up in Ipswich, played guitar, and sang in several bands before deciding to pursue a solo career. He signed his first contract with MCA Records which released, in 1983, a first single: I will not let the sun go down on me. It just fails to reach the Top 40 in the UK. But in early 1984, he gets a first big hit with Would not it be good and his video clip where Nik Kershaw wears an extraterrestrial chromakey habit. This title reaches the 4th place of the UK top.

Three other hits from his first album (Human Racing, published in 1984) also include the Top 20 besides Manche, including the track of the same name and the reissue of his first single (I will not let the sun go down on me). eventually becomes his biggest hit and reaches the 2nd place of the English Hit-parade.
