Nine inch nails Nine Inch Nails [ n a ɪ n ɪ n < / span> t͡ʃ n e ɪ l z ] , NIN , or sometimes stylized NII , is an American industrial metal band, originally from Cleveland, Ohio. It was formed in 1988 by Trent Reznor, the leading producer, singer, songwriter and instrumentalist, who represents the only official member of Nine Inch Nails and remains the sole leader of his direction, until the arrival of the English musician Atticus Ross in the group in 2016>. Mainly industrial metal, the music of Nine Inch Nails offers an eclectic mix of genres such as alternative rock, ambient, electronica and synthpop.
