Noname

Noname Noname , whose real name is Fatimah Nyeema Warner , born September 18, 1991 in Chicago, United States, is an American rapper, songwriter and poet.

Noname begins gradually in the Chicago music scene by participating in mixtapes of Chance the Rapper and Mick Jenkins. In independent, she publishes her first mixtape, Telefone , in 2016. In September 2018, Noname unveils her first album, Room 25 . These first two works are enthusiastically received by critics.

Fatimah Nyeema Warner grew up in the Bronzeville district of Chicago. She is raised by her grandparents before returning to live with her mother with whom she has conflicting relationships. As a teenager, Noname listens to blues artists such as Buddy Guy and Howlin 'Wolf and spends a lot of time in her mother's bookstore. She begins writing poetry after taking a creative writing class in high school. During this period, Noname often goes to the YOUMedia Project, a place reserved for young artists to create, based at the Harold Washington Library. It is here that she befriends many local talents, including Chance the Rapper.

Noname's interest in poetry led her to participate in open mics and slam competitions. It ranks third at Louder Than a Bomb, a chicago slam competition. Little by little, Noname honed her freestyle skills with future rap stars Chance the Rapper, Mick Jenkins, Saba and Ramaj Eroc.
