Of mice and men

Of Mice and Men is an American metalcore band from Orange County, California>. It was founded by Austin Carlile and Jaxin Hall during the course of 2009 after Austin Carlile's departure from Attack Attack !. The name of the group refers to the work of John Steinbeck of the same name.

After his expulsion from the metalcore band Attack Attack! of which he was a founder, Austin Carlile decided with bassist Jaxin Hall to form a new band. They first recorded a demo of the song Seven Thousand Miles for What? With the group Though She Wrote in Columbus, Ohio> . They then seek other members to solidify their training for about a month. They meet Phil Manansala, then live guitarist of A Static Lullaby, Valentino Aerteaga, drummer of Lower Definition, Jon Kitz of Odd Project, and Phil Manansala, a touring member for A Static Lullaby. Carlile and Hall move to Southern California to join the other three. Some time later, Kintz is replaced by Shayley Bourget. After earning more than a million readings on the band's Myspace in just two months, the band released a cover of the Poker Face song. Lady Gaga>, with the help of Tom Denney, former member of A Day to Remember. A demo is then sent to the Rise Records label. Recognized as Austin Carlile's new musical project, Of Mice and Men signs with Rise Records. The band then begins recording with Joey Sturgis their first album, namesake, from July 14, 2009, in Connersville, Indiana.

On December 6, 2009, they shot two video clips in Ventura, California, for the titles "Those in Glass Houses" and Second and Sebring
