Ólafur Arnalds is an Icelandic musician and producer, born November 3, 1986 in Mosfellsbær. Multi-instrumentalist, he plays guitar, drums and has also collaborated as a drummer with heavy metal bands Fighting Shit and Celestine and has contributed to banjo, guitar and piano at My Summer as a Salvation project Soldier. He is also a member of the Kiasmos duet with Janus Rasmussen. Kiasmos has released an album and four EPs since 2012.
In 2004, Ólafur Arnalds composed and recorded three tracks (the introduction and two finals) for the Antigone album of the metal band Heaven Shall Burn.
On October 12, 2007, he released his first solo album Eulogy for Evolution, followed quickly by the EP Variations of Static in 2008. In addition, he left this same year on tour with the group Sigur Rós.
