Operator Please is an independent Australian rock band from Gold Coast. Formed in 2005, it consists of singer and guitarist Amandah Wilkinson, drummer Tim Commander, keyboardist Chris Holland, bassist Ashley McConnell and violinist Taylor Henderson.
Originally, members of the group meet while they are high school students at Elanora State High School, and form the group to participate in the contest of their school, named Battle of the Bands. In 2007, they released the songs Get What You Want, Leave It Alone, Just a Song About Ping Pong and Crash Tragic, and released their first studio album, Yes Yes Vindictive, in November of the same year.
Operator Please is formed in early 2005 by singer Amandah Wilkinson to participate in a contest at her school called Battle of the Bands. After winning the contest, members, aged between 17 and 19, begin recording their first independent EP, On the Prowl. Their second EP, Cement Cement, generates local and international interest, thanks to a mix of word-of-mouth and thanks to its broadcast on the Triple J radio channel. In a few months, and with the help of a label located in New York, they accept a contract with Virgin / EMI Records in Australia, and with the independent label Brille Records for International>.
