Raised fist

Raised Fist is a Swedish hardcore punk band from Luleå. Formed in 1993, the group initially drew on other groups such as Gorilla Biscuits and Youth of Today.

The idea behind the name Raised Fist comes from the song Know Your Enemy < / span> from the Rage Against the Machine group, where the phrase " Born with an insight and a Raised fist .... < / span> " can be heard >>>. The group gained notoriety (it appeared in particular at the Roskilde Festival) thanks to its aggressive musical style and its presence on stage.

Currently on the label Burning Heart Records, Raised Fist has five members including, since the album Sound of the Republic, a new drummer in the person of Matte Modin, former drummer of Swedish black metal band Dark Funeral. Raised Fist recorded in June 1994 his first extended play entitled You're Not Like Me , then in June 1996, Stronger than Ever . On these albums, the band and singer Alexander Rajkovic, "unleash their power in this hardcore adventure, with the same state of mind and energy as the Boston and Washington DC bands> . At the end of 1998, the band made a comeback with the album Fuel , which was rather well received> .

On April 10, 2006, Raised Fist recorded Sound of the Republic , produced by Daniel Bergstrand>. "This album totally different from the old ones, mixing a much more metalcore sound where with determination and more than ever, the band increases the brutality of their hardcore with their new recruit on drums, Matte Modin (Dark Funeral)> ". In 2009, the band released their fifth album, Veil of Ignorance. The album reaches 29> place at the Finnish musical rankings>, and at the 22> place of the Swedish musical rankings>.
