Red rain

Red Rain is the first track of Peter Gabriel So's solo album released in 1986. In the United States, it's the second single from the album. He reached 3rd place in the Billboard standings. A public version was released in 1994 in the United Kingdom. Peter Gabriel later took over the title in 2012>.

The theme of the song was inspired to Peter Gabriel by a recurring dream where he found himself swimming in a sea "red" . He explains it in Mojo magazine. Hi-hat cymbals are used in the song to simulate the sound of rain, and are played by Stewart Copeland, the drummer of The Police.
