Ritchie Valens is the first Latino to place a hit in the top 50 record sales in the United States, with La Bamba.
He made his own first guitar, then, while still attending high school, signed a contract with the label Del-Fi Records in Los Angeles in 1958.
He goes on tour with Eddie Cochran.
