Scar Symmetry is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Avesta, Dalarna County. Formed in 2004, the band has six albums, including seven singles. They are signed to the Nuclear Blast Records label.
Formed in April 2004, Scar Symmetry meets during a recording session at Jonas Kjellgren's Black Lounge Studios by guitarists Jonas Kjellgren, Per Nilsson and drummer Henrik Ohlsson. The same month, singer Christian Älvestam and bassist Kenneth Seil join the group, which records a demo for the song Seeds of Rebellion that helps the band to be signed to the Cold Records label (a division of Metal Blade Records) >> >.
In July 2005, the band joined Black Lounge Studios to start recording the album Symmetric in Design. Its release is followed by several festivals in Europe>, and some tours with Soilwork, Hypocrisy, and One Man Army and the Undead Quartet>
In June 2006, the band signs a new contract with the Nuclear Blast Records label. Eight months after the release of Symmetric in Design, the band recorded a sequel, Pitch Black Progress>. The band turns again once again, this time with Communic for the 2006 Waves of Pitch Black Decay tour in Europe, and in North America with the pioneers of melodic death metal Dark Tranquility and The Haunted >>>.
