Septic flesh

Septicflesh , formerly Septic Flesh , is a Greek symphonic death metal band from Athens.

The group was formed in 1990, and recorded a first demo, Temple of the Lost Race, in 1991. The band did not change until 1997, when the band recruited Nathalie Rassoulis to sing on the Ophidian Wheel album. The band broke up in 2003, and members then participated in different projects: Chaostar for Christos Antoniou, as well as Firewind and Nightfall for Bob Katsionis.

The band is re-forming on February 19, 2007, at the Metal Healing Festival in Greece, alongside Orphaned Land, Rage and Aborted>. On April 3, 2007, the site Blabbermouth.net announces the meeting of the group for a seventh studio album for the French label Season of Mist>. According to Christos Antoniou, guitarist and composer of the band, 80 musicians and a choir of 32 singers participated in the album , which is then finalized at Fredman Studio in Sweden. This album, Communion , was published in April 2008. On this occasion, the group decided to change its name Septic Flesh to Septicflesh. In an interview given to the site lordsofmetal.nl, Christos Antiniou justifies this change simply by a preference of aesthetic order and to mark a new stage in the life of the group.

On September 10, 2009, the group announced a new studio album, scheduled for early 2011. On December 17, 2010, the band released their first single from the album, entitled The Vampire from Nazareth , and announces its release for April 28, 2011 in the United Kingdom and the 29 in the United States>. In April 2012, the group's signature to the Prosthetic Records label is announced>.
