Shadows Fall is an American metal band formed in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1996. The band played melodic death metal in its debut and then moved on to a more metalcore / thrash metal genre.

Since its formation, Shadows Fall has released five studio albums, two compilations and a live DVD. In 2007, the band was nominated for the Grammy Award in the Best Performance Metal category for the song "Redemption" from the album Threads of Life.
