Shiny Toy Guns is an American synthpop band founded in 2002 from Los Angeles, California. Their most popular songs are The Disko, Do not Cry Out, You Are The One, Rainy Monday and Stripped, a cover of the British band Depeche Mode.
The band was founded in 2002 by bassist and keyboardist Jeremy Dawson and singer and guitarist Chad Petree. They had known each other for many years, growing up in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and working together on a few musical projects like Cloud2Ground and Slyder. They meet in 2004 the singer Carah Faye Charnow (en) and the drummer Mikey Martin.
The band is rapidly gaining popularity both in California and on their Myspace page. In early 2005, they released their first album We Are Pilots. In the summer of 2005, they tour for their album in America. Subsequently, they re-record their album and leave it in November 2005 by changing the songs a bit. They continue their tour and in June 2006, they sign with Universal to bring out a third time We Are Pilots in October 2006.
In 2006, their title You Are The One is used in the FIFA 07 game playlist.
