It was in 1993 that Pierre Bouvier and Chuck Comeau formed a local punk rock band called Reset with the help of Philippe Jolicoeur on guitar, and Jean-Sébastien Boileau on bass. This first training allows them to find a place in the Canadian scene and tour with bands such as MxPx and Ten Foot Pole. After the release of his first album in 1996, No Worries, Chuck Comeau decided to leave the band to study at the university where he met Jeff Stinco and Sébastien Lefebvre who also play in musical groups.
In the meantime, Reset is releasing his second album, No Limits. At a Sugar Ray concert, Pierre Bouvier meets Chuck Comeau and decides to leave Reset to play again with his friend Sébastien Lefebvre and Jeff Stinco. David Desrosiers then takes the place of bassist Reset but leaves the group very quickly to join the formation of Bouvier and Comeau. This is how the Simple Plan group came into existence, whose name comes from the movie A Simple Plan, which members of the group had watched while their band did not have a name yet. In 2001, they play Vans Warped Tour>.
