Soilwork

Soilwork is a Swedish melodic metalcore and death metal band from Helsingborg. He trained in 1995 and has more than a dozen albums.

Founded in 1995, the group was first known as Inferior Breed, with the following members: Bjorn Strid (or Bjorn "Speed" Strid, singer of the band, also part of the bands Disarmonia Mundi and Terror 2000 (en) ), Peter Wichers (rhythm guitar), Jimmy Persson (drums), Mattias Nilsson ( rhythm guitar and solo) and Carl-Gustav Döös (bass).

In the fall of 1996, the group took the current name of Soilwork. After a demo called In Dreams We Fall Into the Eternal Lake, they find Ola Flink, new bassist of the group, to embark on the preparation of their very first album, Steelbath Suicide, signed on the French label Listenable Records. After the recording of the album, some changes are added to the training: Henry Ranta takes up the drums and Ola Frenning (Peter's uncle) on the rhythm guitar and solo.

In 1999 released their second album, The Chainheart Machine. The album is well received and the group manages to get a contract with the Nuclear Blast label, allowing to go on tour with bands like Defleshed, Cannibal Corpse, and even briefly with Dark Tranquility.
