Starkill is an American melodic death metal band from Chicago, Illinois. The members meet in 2008 and sign their first contract with Century Media Records on December 14, 2012. The first album, "Fires of Life" , is released on May 16, 2013 >>>.
The founding brothers and members, Parker Jameson and Spencer Weidner, have been writing songs since their teens, but face some difficulties in forming their band, including the lack of musicians with the same talent and sharing the same musical tastes. Parker therefore plans to recruit at Indiana University, hoping that the music program of this school will allow him to meet musicians with similar aspirations.
Shortly after starting his first year at Indiana University, Parker meets Charlie Federici, with whom he shares many similarities, and decides to join the group. They begin to compose and play in different parts of Indiana and the Midwest. They grabbed the attention of Century Media Records in 2012 as they play under the name Starkill. The band starts recording the beginning of their album at Electrowerks Studios the same summer; they sign a contract of engagement with Century Media Records in December >>>.
The first album, Fires of Life , was released in May 2013 and the band is touring North America and Europe. Critics consider that Starkill is a band belonging to melodic death metal>, power metal>, thrash metal>, and symphonic black metal.
