Stormwitch

Stormwitch is a German heavy metal band from Heidenheim, Baden-Württemberg. Formed in 1979, the band is nicknamed "The Masters of Black Romantic" . The group broke up in 1994, before reforming in 2002. In the period 2004-2015, the band did not record any studio album until Season of the Witch (2015), continuing to perform in concerts. A new album is coming out in 2018, entitled Bound of the Witch.

The group was formed in 1979 under the name Lemon Sylvan before being renamed Stormwitch in 1981. The five founding members of the group are singer Andy Aldrian, guitarists Lee Tarot and Steve Merchant, bassist Ronny Pearson and drummer Pete Lancer, all names being pseudonyms. The band's first album, Walpurgis Night, was released in 1984, and uses a strong Gothic and horror imagery.

In 1985 released the second album of the group, Tales of Terror . A year later, in 1986, the band released their third album, "Stronger than Heaven". From the fourth album, The Beauty and the Beast (1987), published on the label GAMA Records, the band goes from power metal to a hard style more traditional rock. From the end of the 1980s, the composition of the group evolves a lot. The album includes a cover of the Italian Skull White's ballad "Tears by the Firelight" . The album follows two years later, in 1989, from a fifth album, entitled Eye of the Storm . The same year, they play a concert in Budapest, which will be shot for the release of the live album Magyarországon (Live in Budapest). The bassist Ronny Gleissberg leaves the group, and is replaced by Andreas Jäger.

In 1992 released the album War of the Wizards . The band split in 1994 after recording seven studio albums.
