Tarja Soile Susanna Turunen Cabuli , by her stage name Tarja Turunen was born in Kitee, Finland, on August 17, 1977. Finnish opera artist, composer and pianist. Tarja became world famous as a singer of the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish between 1996 and 2005. Today she is pursuing a solo career.

Tarja began her musical career officially in 1996 when Nightwish was founded by Tuomas Holopainen. Tarja sang for the group until October 2005; it is in an open letter to the press that the group announces its dismissal. In November 2005, Tarja began a solo Christmas concert tour that continued until the end of 2005. In the fall of 2006, she released her first solo album, a project called Henkäys Ikuisuudesta. , which was followed by a tour in Finland in November and December 2006. In 2007, Tarja released a new album entitled My Winter Storm and began a world tour which ended in late 2009.
