Terrorgruppe is a German punk rock band from Berlin. He was formed in 1993, dissolved in 2005 and reformed again in 2013. Terrorgruppe sings in English and German.
Terrorgruppe was formed in February 1993 in Berlin, a few years after the fall of the Wall, at the initiative of Archi Alert, former guitarist of the hardcore punk band Inferno and Johnny Bottrop. Their first single, Dem Deutschen Volke, which contains their hit Die Gesellschaft Ist Schuld (Dass Ich So Bin), launches their career in the German alternative scene. Their music evolves then towards an effective pop punk on words criticizing fiercely the German society, but always under the angle of the second degree.
Terrorgruppe will get a real popular success in the same way as Die Ärzte, with whom they will share a split-single called Rockgiganten Vs. Strassenköter, in 1996. In 1998, they shoot with NOFX, Die Toten Hosen and Die Ärzte, then with ZSK and WIZO. In 1999, they participate in the soundtrack of the movie Oi! Warning of brothers Benjamin and Dominik Reding. In 2002 released the live album Blechdose. In 2004, the band announces no new concert. They separate in November 2005.
In January 2013, the DVD Sündige Säuglinge hinter Klostermauern zur Lust verdammt, a documentary on the history of the group, is published. As a bonus, they publish the DVD / CD Nachtisch - Halbstark in Kreuzberg 1993-2006 which includes rare and unpublished songs. In December 2013, the first Terrorgruppe stage appearance announced for May 2014. Their first real appearance is on May 25, 2014 at SO36. The band gives another concert with KIZ on May 26, 2014. The bassist Zip Schlitzer is dismissed from the group and replaced by Kid Katze. In January 2016, the group released the album Tiergarten, which reached the 28> place of the German rankings, and the 52> place in Austria >>>. On the cover of the album, they use the selfie of a monkey. In 2017, they publish their live album Superblechdose>.
