The Agonist

The Agonist is a Canadian extreme metal band from Montreal, Quebec. Their musical style is characterized by melodic death metal and metalcore influences. Formed in 2004, the group released its first album, Once Only Imagined, in August 2007. He released the band's second album, entitled Lullabies for the Dormant Mind, in 2009. After a third album, Prisoners, released in 2012, singer Alissa White-Gluz leaves the band in 2014. After recruiting Vicky Psarakis, the new group released a fourth album, entitled Headbanger's Ball on MTV2>. After the release of this debut album, The Agonist tours with bands such as God Forbid, Arsis, The Faceless, Sonata Arctica, Overkill, Epica, Visions of Atlantis, and Enslaved. One of the band's tours was interrupted by a blizzard that damaged their equipment in the Rocky Mountains in November 2007. Singer Alissa White-Gluz is quoted in the magazine Revolver among the "sexiest girls in metal" in 2007> and later in 2009. She also participated in the show Canadian Idol>. Her singing is extremely varied: death voice, black voice, clear voice and sometimes even lyrical.
