The Desert sessions

The Desert Sessions is a musical collective created by Josh Man (Queens of the Stone Age) in 1997 and which included Brant Bjork, PJ Harvey, Troy Van Leeuwen, Nick Whitei, David Catching, Jeordie White Mark Lanegan, John McBain, Josh Freese, Chris Goss, Alain Johannes, Dean Ween and Joey Castillo.

It was in August 1997 that these sessions began with the meeting of musicians, friends of Josh Homme (from groups such as Monster Magnet, Goatsnake, Earthlings ?, Kyuss, including Josh Homme himself, and Soundgarden) at Rancho de La Luna. Thus the first sessions of registration of the collective could begin. A number of tracks were later re-recorded by Josh Homme in his Queens of the Stone Age group, sometimes under a different name.
