The Everly brothers

The Everly Brothers is a duo of American rock and country music singers and guitarists, consisting of two brothers, Don Everly, born February 1, 1937 in Brownie, Kentucky, and Phil Everly, born on January 19, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois, died January 3, 2014 in Burbank, California.

As early as 1949, at the age of 12 and 10, the two brothers already distinguished themselves in the Everly Family Show, a popular half-hour morning show on a radio station in Iowa.

The Everly Brothers formed a duet of professional singers in 1955. They were quickly noticed by the guitarist Chet Atkins, who made them sign, in 1956, a first contract at Columbia, concluded by a single single, without success. They then sign a contract with record label Cadence Records, and record their first successes: Bye Bye Love (1957, No. 2 in the United States), Wake Up Little Suzie (1957), All I Have to Do Is Dream (1957) 1958) - two n> 1 - Claudette (1958), Bird Dog and Problems (1958, two n> 2), Take a Message to Mary (1959), ('Til) I Kissed You (1959) and Let It Be Me (1959). The duo sells 15 million records in its three years at Cadence.

In 1960, the Everly Brothers signed a contract with Warner. Their first record for this record label, Cathy's Clown, became number one in Britain and then in the United States. They still release some hit singles: So Sad (1960), Walk Right Back (1961), Crying in the Rain (1961), That's Old Fashioned (1962).
