The Vaccines

The Vaccines is a British independent rock band from London, England. The group's debut album, What Did You Expect from The Vaccines ?, was released in March 2011 and reached fourth place in British music rankings>.

Formed in June 2010, the band is composed of Justin Young (vocals), who previously played folk under the name Jay Jay Pistolet, Árni Hjörvar (bass), Freddie Cowan (guitar, bassist brother of The Horrors) and Pete Robertson (drums)>. The group is initially composed of Young and Cowan>. He released his first If You Wanna demo in the summer of 2010, then after a first concert in Leicester, made a first tour in the fall. Raising the interest of the press, the first London concert of the group at the Flowerpot in October is full>.

The Vaccines' first single, Wreckin 'Bar (Ra Ra Ra) / Blow It Up, is out at the end of November 2010. Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra), which is a very short song (84 seconds), is elected Song of the Day by Q magazine.

On January 5, 2011, the band ranked in the Sound of 2011 of the BBC, and is head of the magazine NME>. After being confirmed at Columbia Records, the band released their second single Post Break-Up Sex on January 24, 2011, which starts at the 32> place of the British charts>. Named "best new group of 2011" at the MTV Awards, the band toured several European festivals> and even made the first part of the Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Stade de France on June 30 2012>.
