The Whispers is an American group of funk, soul and disco, from Los Angeles.
The group formed in 1964 around twins Walter and Scotty Scott and Gordy Harmon, Marcus Hutson and Nicholas Caldwell. In 1973 Harmon is replaced by Leaveil Degree, former member of the Friends of Distinction.
They were particularly successful in the 1970s and 1980s when they released many hits like "The Beat Goes On", "Rock Steady", "Tonight", "Keep On Lovin 'Me" and "Lady".
