Timo Tolkki is a Finnish guitarist, born March 3, 1966 in Klaukkala, Finland. After being the guitarist and lead composer of the band Stratovarius until 2008, then Revolution Renaissance, he is now the guitarist of Symfonia.

Timo Tolkki joined the Stratovarius band in 1985, heavily influenced by Yngwie Malmsteen, after playing in the Antidote, Thunder and Road Block groups. At the beginning of the band, he was in charge of singing in addition to the guitar but after the third album, Dreamspace, he decided to hire a singer to be able to concentrate on his playing on the guitar.

He has a sound engineer background and in 2004 opened his own recording studio called Goldenworks.
