Vasco Rossi (born February 7, 1952 in Zocca) is an Italian pop rock singer. He is also a composer and lyricist. He is nicknamed "Vasco" or "Il Blasco".
Singer who defines himself as a "provoca (u) toro" (Italian neologism meaning "provoking author"), having been regularly criticized during his career for his lifestyle and the lyrics of his songs. He has released 17 studio albums, 9 live albums and 11 compilations in 25 years of career, writing more than 130 songs, as well as many texts and music for other performers.
The name is given by his father, Giovanni Carlo, a truck driver, in tribute to a prisoner of the same name in Germany during the Second World War. He spent a peaceful childhood, surrounded by the affection of his family, showing a shy character. Vasco Rossi has three sons. Davide and Lorenzo were both born in 1986, but from two different mothers. Davide is an actor and DJ. Lorenzo lives in Ferrara, he was only recognized by Vasco Rossi in January 2003, after having voluntarily submitted to the DNA test. Vasco's third son, who he had with Laura Schmidt, his companion since 1988, and who lives with him, was born in 1991 and his name is Luca.
