Wye oak

Wye Oak is an independent American rock band from Baltimore, Maryland. It is composed of Jenn Wasner (main voice, guitar) and Andy Stack (drums, keyboards, second voice).

The band was first called Monarch in 2006, before changing to Wye Oak. Their first album was released in 2007, named If Children. The group will have signed on Merge Records in 2008. The Knot follows in 2009>.

Their album Civilian was released in March 2011, still via Merge Records in the United States and on the Berlin label City Slang in Europe. It is worth noting the presence of the single Civilian in season 2, episode 10 18 Miles Out of the series The Walking Dead. In early 2014, Wye Oak releases the album Shriek.

The band's musical style is described as "seriously influenced folk-indie rock pop with touches of noise and dream pop". Wasner sings, plays the electric guitar and acoustic, while Stack is both the drums and keyboards, playing the drums with his feet and his right hand, the bass line with his left hand >>>.
