Yiruma (in Korean lang = "ko"> 이루마 , literally Lee Ru-ma), born February 15, 1978 in Seoul, Korea South, is a South Korean composer and pianist. Known all over the world, his albums are sold everywhere, in the United States, Europe and Asia. His best-known songs are Kiss the Rain and River Flows in You .
Born February 15, 1978 in Seoul, South Korea, Yiruma began playing the piano at the age of five. In 1988, with his family, he moved to England. He graduates from the Purcell School of Music (en) in Bushey in the south Hertfordshire in 1997 and King's College London in 2000>.
He is spotted for his compositional talents> and produced his first album Love Scene under the label DECCA, in 2001. His love for Parisian romantic music led him to draw inspiration from several French composers such as Samuel Vallée, for his title, River Flows in You, which was proposed by fans to become Bella's lullaby in the movie Twilight, but without success>.
At the beginning of his career, he was invited to MIDEM (International Market of Disc and Music Publishing) in Cannes in 2002>. That same year, he composed the song When The Love Falls , which became the soundtrack of the drama Winter Love Song (겨올 연가 °) popular in Korea and Japan>. This is a cover of the song Who Killed Grandma of French singer Michel Polnareff. In winter 2004, he began a tour of twenty-three dates in South Korea where he toured twice, the Drama concert and the Winter Story concert. He also performs in places such as hospitals, schools or churches. During his military service, he plays in different military bases. In 2008, after his military service, he made a tour in Korea where all his concerts were full. Yiruma debuted on television on MBC TV and on KBS 1FM, as well as on MBC FM in 2009 and 2011.
