Zero 7

Zero 7 is a British group of electronic music oriented trip hop and downtempo, consisting of two Londoners: Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker. They stand out thanks to the remix of Climbing Up the Walls by Radiohead, while they are sound engineers when recording the album OK Computer, the same Radiohead.

After studying sound engineering, Binns and Hardaker began their career in the music industry in the 1990s at Mickie Most's RAK recording studio in London, working for British artists such as the Pet Shop Boys, Young Disciples and Robert Plant. They then contact their friend and former schoolmate Nigel Godrich (then producer of Radiohead) and ask him to use some pieces of the group to experiment their know-how. They remix Climbing Up the Walls, which appears in front of B single Karma Police.

After the broadcast of the remix on Gilles BBC Radio 1, Zero 7 is mixing other projects, starting with Terry Callier's Love Theme from Spartacus. Subsequently, they also remix Lenny Kravitz, Sneaker Pimps and Lambchop. In 1999, they released a first EP, called EP1, under the name Zero 7 (after a Honduran club named Zero Siete).

In 2001, they released their first album, "Simple Things" , hailed by critics and the public. The album features vocal collaborations by Mozez, Sia Furler and Sophie Barker. The album is named for several awards, including the Mercury Music Prize. They won the "Revelation of the Year" at the Muzik Awards and the album became a gold record. During the promotional tour in many music festivals, the group consists of Binns and Hardaker, with their three singers and other invited musicians (many of whom appeared on the album) sometimes reaching 20 people on stage.
