Angus and julia stone

Angus and Julia Stone is a folk music band consisting of a brother and a sister from Newport, near Sydney, Australia.

Initially, everyone begins to sing on their side before meeting occasionally during intimate concerts in 2006.

In March 2006, the duo recorded its first EP Chocolates and Cigarettes (released in August) from which the title "Paper Airplane" for the radios was extracted. After a few summer festivals and the meeting with Fran Healy, leader of Travis, Angus and Julia Stone sign with Independiente, a subsidiary of Major EMI, and release their second EP Heart Full of Wine in February 2007. This year sees the rating of group going up while recording his first acoustic folk album.

Released on September 8th, 2007 under the label EMI Music in Australia, A Book Like This is ranked in the 5th place of the Australian charts and is transformed into a platinum record. The album is released in March 2008 in Europe under the label Flock Music. An English tour brings additional awareness to the duo that opens for Donavon Frankenreiter, Newton Faulkner or Martha Wainwright. A tour follows in the United States with the release of the album in the United States March 3, 2009 under the label Nettwerk before Angus Stone works on his solo opus Lady of the Sunshine (Smoking Gun released in April 2009 ).
