Eric whitacre

Eric Whitacre (born January 2, 1970) in Reno (Nevada) is an American composer of orchestral, choral and electronic music, and has conducted several ensembles in Europe, Asia, Australian and American.

He lives in Los Angeles, California today with his wife, soprano Hila Plitmann and his son.

Whitacre began his musical training during his studies at the University of Nevada (Las Vegas), where he studied composition with avant-garde Ukrainian composer Virko Baley and conducting with David Weiller. This is where he wrote his triptych Ghost Train for orchestra. Whitacre earned a master's degree in music at the Juilliard School in 1997, where he perfected composition with John Corigliano and David Diamond.

From the 2000s, Eric Whitacre became a noted composer for his choral music and educational music. Some of her choral pieces have become particularly popular pieces in high school and university vocal ensembles in America.
