Fruko y sus tesos

Fruko y sus Tesos is a musical group of salsa from Colombia. Fruko (born in 1951) is the stage name of Julio Ernesto Estrada Rincón , Colombian composer, producer, performer and conductor, born in Medellín on July 7, 1951 .

In 1963 he signed a contract with Discos Fuentes, founded in 1934 by Antonio Fuentes. In 1965 he joined the group Los Corraleros Majagual with whom he played for seven years.

First nicknamed Joselito, he was later nicknamed Fruko because he looked like a character in an advertisement whose slogan was Fruco tomato salsa ... el secreto del sabor (Fruco tomato sauce, the secret of flavor ).

During tours, he met Calixto Ochoa, Eliseo Herrera, Abraham Núñez, Lisandro Meza and Julio Erazo.
