Matmatah

Matmatah is a Breton band of rock and folk, founded in Brest in 1995. The duo formed by Tristan Nihouarn (Stan) and Cédric Floc'h (Sammy) is joined by bassist Éric Digaire and Fañch drummer to play under the name of Matmatah, in reference to the Tunisian troglodyte village of the same name (Matmata).

In July 1997, Matmatah released a first single with two songs linked to Brittany that met with success: Lambé An Dro and Les Moutons. The album La Ouache, released in 1998, has more than 800,000 copies. Emma and L'Apologie also become hits.

After releasing four studio albums, the band split in 2008.

For the 20 years of the group in 2015, Matmatah released a double best of, featuring re-recorded titles and two new singles, Triceratops and Loctudy's ladies.
