Mest

Mest is an American pop punk band from Chicago, Illinois.

It was formed in 1995 when three children from the same family, from a suburb of Chicago, decided to form a band because of their passion for punk rock. The group originally includes Tony Lovato on guitar and vocals, Steve Lovato (Tony's brother) on guitar, and Matt Lovato (Tony and Steve's cousin) on bass. Some time later Nick Gigler, a drummer friend they know for a long time, joins them.

The group begins to make itself known in the region and begins to acquire a certain notoriety. In 1997, Tony met John Feldmann (singer and guitarist of the Goldfinger group) after a concert in Chicago. Since then, Tony has been trying to keep in touch with him. It's the same year, Steve leaves the band because of musical differences. Mest does not stay a trio long, because Tony thinks there should be a second guitarist, and it's an old friend of the group, Jeremiah Rangel who comes to complete the band. His level leaves something to be desired, but he still integrates the group because of the musical similarities and his attachment to the group. As of February 1998 the band continues to work on their first album Mo 'Money Mo' 40'z, some songs had already been designed with Steve. The album is completed in March 1998.

Shortly after, John Feldmann made contact with Tony and asked if Mest wanted to work with him. Of course, I accept the proposal, and Feldmann has become their producer. The band then released Wasting Time in 2000 and Destination Unknown in 2001 which will allow the group to acquire a notoriety which will be confirmed with the release of the eponymous album Mest in 2003 whose single Jaded (these years) is performed with Benji Madden of Good Charlotte group which then met a great commercial success. On October 18, 2005 the group publishes a new album, Photographs>, but on January 13, 2006, the group announces, for unknown reasons, its separation.
