Plain White T's is an American pop punk band from Villa Park (near Chicago), Illinois, best known for the title Hey There Delilah who was certified platinum in 2007 and named twice a Grammy>.

Members are Tom Higgenson (born February 22, 1979 in Chicago; vocals), Dave Tirio (guitar), Mike Retondo (bass and vocals), De'Mar Hamilton (drums), and Tim Lopez (guitar, vocals). Initially, the band consisted of Tom, Dave, Steve Mast (guitar and vocals), and Ken Fletcher (bass) >>>. Dave initially played drums in the group and Tom, meanwhile, also played the guitar before singing exclusively. Steve Mast left to form the group Waiting Game. The story of Plain White T's goes back to their high school years when singer Tom Higgenson enters the famous rock club Metro and sees his future on stage. While the local scene exploded nationally via bands like Smashing Pumpkins or Veruca Salt, he decided it was time for him to make his dreams come true. Armed with paper, a pen and a guitar, Tom got down to the job, experimenting with lyrics, melodies and a 4-track tape recorder in his parents' home in Villa Park, Illinois. As soon as he feels comfortable as a songwriter, he finds the courage to give a cassette of his songs to Christian Lane, singer of the band of the 1990s Loud Lucy.

Two years after recruiting a few school buddies to set up a band, including guitarist Dave Trio and Plain White T's, already surrounded by fans gleaned from Tom Higgenson's melodic talents, were playing at Metro. The music industry quickly became interested in their success, and after having sold thousands of copies of their first self-produced album of 2002, Stop, Plain White T's was signed by Fearless Record. Tom Higgerson is inspired by the band The Ramones, about the lyrics of their songs.

Their album All That We Needed (2005), is the first of the recomposed training and includes the single Hey There Delilah. In 2006, the group signed to Hollywood Records and recorded the album Every Second Counts, which included a new version of Hey There Delilah. Every Second Counts is published in September 2006. That same year, Hey There Delilah reached the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks. the piece is named twice from a Grammy, and Every Second Counts is certified gold. In early 2006, the band teamed up with the Motion City Soundtrack tour of spring / winter>.
