Puscifer is the project of Maynard James Keenan (Tool singer and A Perfect Circle).
Originally, the project was called Umlaut (the name of German umlaut).
The name Puscifer was used for the first time in an episode of the American series Mr Show featuring Maynard James Keenan and Adam Jones (Tool's guitarist). Puscifer was then the name of an imaginary rock band.
Adam Jones is not officially associated with Puscifer. His only participation is a drawing for the "Your Mom's a Bitch" t-shirt on sale on the official website of Puscifer.
