Sylosis

Sylosis is a British thrash metal band from Reading, England.

Sylosis was formed in 2000 by founding member Josh Middleton, when a band of young people wanted to play heavy, thrash, and death metal, mainly. Over the years, the group makes several changes in training, but can not do much, because of their studies, because they did not have a driver's license, and there was no real scene underground metal. Sylosis made two EPs, which were released only in the UK, under a small independent label, Deep End Records.

In 2007, Sylosis receives an e-mail from Nuclear Blast Records saying that they would like to work with the band. The latter signed with the record company a month later. Guitarist Josh Middleton said in an interview with About.com: "The foundation of our sound is the thrash sound of the Bay Area. We like to play several styles of metal. We really like doing epic songs. We like the progressive, brutal and melodic sound. "

Their first studio album, "Conclusion of an Age" , covered several themes. The album deals with the end of the human race, in the sense that nature takes back its rights within the Earth. The cover shows a living world with the human race. There is, however, no religious reference behind the texts. After the recording, the guitarist Gurneet Ahluwalia is replaced by Alex Bailey. Their European tour starts in 2009 alongside The Black Dahlia Murder, Psycroptic and Cephalic Carnage (MySpace tour dates). Sylosis becomes the third opening band on the Tuborg scene for the Download Festival, as well as appearances at the New England and Hardcore Festival, and a first part on the Bohemia stage at the Sonisphere Festival. A tour in the UK is announced for October / November 2009, but is canceled in favor of a tour with DragonForce between November and December 2009.
