Darkane

Darkane Darkane is a Swedish extreme metal band from Helsingborg. They are known for adding symphonic elements to their music, such as orchestras, choirs, and acoustic interludes, but also for the technicality of their music.

At the break-up of the Agretator group, drummer Peter Wildoer and guitarist Christofer Malmström are joined by Klas Ideberg and bassist Jörgen Löfberg. This new group, which they call Darkane, formed in 1998 in Helsingborg,> starts working on aggressive, technical and brutal compositions very quickly. The name of the group is a play on words between the English words dark and arcane (mysterious)>.

Christofer Malmström and Peter Wildoer are also members of Non-Human Level>, a group at the initiative of the guitarist who did not want to deny the style of Darkane but incorporate more melodies and solos. It also participates Peter Wildoer (normally on drums for Darkane) to the voice. Klas Ideberg is part of Terror 2000> with Speed ​​from Soilwork, as well as The Defaced. Peter Wildoer is part of several other projects such as Electrocution 250, Old Man's Child, Pestilence and was formerly part of the Arch Enemy group.

Darkane starts recording a first album between August and September 1998>. He publishes his first album, entitled Rusted Angel , in 1999. Originally published by the label Wrong Again Records in Scandinavia, the license is bought back by the American label Regain Records, and the album is reissued with some live bonus songs. The album is very well received by the specialized press; In particular, the metal.de website and the Chronicles of Chaos webzine give it an excellent rating of 10 out of 10 >>>. After the departure of Lawrence Mackrory, Darkane recruits a new singer, Andreas Sydow.
