Entwine

Entwine Entwine is a Finnish gothic metal band from Lahti. He was originally formed in 1995 as a death metal band by guitarist and singer Tom Mikkola, drummer Aki Hanttu, and bassist Teppo Taipale. In 1997, they decided to change the musical style into gothic metal and Gothic rock. Entwine's first album, entitled "Treasures Within Hearts" , was released in September 1999.

Entwine was originally formed in 1995 as a death metal band by guitarist and singer Tom Mikkola, drummer Aki Hanttu, and bassist Teppo Taipale. In 1997, they decided to change the musical style of Entwine Gothic metal and Gothic rock, and the guitarist and singer Panu Willman is recruited shortly thereafter. In December 1997, Entwine recorded his first demo, called "Divine Infinity . In February 1998, the singer and keyboardist Riitta Heikkonen joined the group. Entwine's first album, entitled "Treasures Within Hearts" , was released in September 1999. In April 2000, Willman and Taipale left the band, and the band is replaced by Joni Miettinen. Singer Mika Tauriainen returns to the band the following month.

The next album of the band is Gone , and is published in April 2001. It is awarded in the category of "album of the month" by the German magazine Metal Hammer , and the song New Dawn is one of the top 10 positions in Finnish singles rankings. Jaani Kähkönen joined the group as a tour guitarist at the end of 2001, but soon became a permanent member of Entwine. In early 2002, the band recorded their third album, Time of Despair , which was produced by Anssi Kippo. Entwine then toured Europe with Theater of Tragedy and Ram-Zet to promote their album. In 2003, Entwine recorded his fourth album, diEversity , which was released in March 2004. This album showed a change in the sound of the band, giving up some some of the Gothic roots and bowing to a heavier style.

Entwine publishes in 2005 an EP containing five tracks, entitled Sliver . In August 2006, Entwine released their fifth album called Fatal Design and toured Europe with German band Zeraphine>. On December 8, 2006, keyboardist Riitta Heikkonen announced his departure from the group on personal grounds. No replacement is planned for this period>. In September 2007, the band has to cancel three concert dates in Finland, after Mika Tauriainen had his wisdom teeth removed. "My jaw is always joking and because of the operation, I can not open my mouth properly" , he explains>. On January 28, 2009, Entwine releases their sixth album entitled in "> Painstained in Finland, which is subsequently announced for a British release on April 6 via Spinefarm Records. >. On April 18, 2009, their tour bus catches fire and the damage is estimated at € 50000>.
