Guano Apes is a German rock and heavy metal band from Göttingen.
Their mix of grunge and heavy metal makes them one of the most successful German rock bands.
Guano Apes was formed in 1990 with guitarist Henning Rümenapp, bassist Stefan Ude and drummer Dennis Poschwatta. The singer Sandra Nasic joins the band in 1994. The group's career was launched in 1996 after the victory of a local competition with the title Open Your Eyes . This song was also their first single to win the most success. We find this title in their first album Proud Like a God released in 1997. Two albums: Do not Give Me Names and Walking on a Thin Line, respectively followed in 2000 and 2003. The group separates after the release of their compilation < Planet of the Apes and a last tour in February 2005.
As a result of this separation, Dennis Poschwatta drops the battery and forms the Tamoto group. He will be joined by Henning Rümenapp and Stefan Ude. For her part, Sandra Nasic began a solo career whose first album was released in 2007. In 2009, the group is reforming again for a series of concerts and festivals across Europe. According to the official website, they would be back in the studio for a new album. They perform the first part of the Scorpions concerts during the French tour of the latter in November 2011.
