Killswitch engage

Killswitch Engage is an American metalcore musical band from Westfield, Massachusetts. Precursor of the genre by its age, the band's musical style also has melodic death metal influences. Formed after the dissolution of Overcast and Aftershock groups in 1999, Killswitch Engage is composed of singer Jesse Leach, bassist Mike D'Antonio, guitarists Joel Stroetzel and Adam Dutkiewicz, and drummer Justin Foley. The band signs a contract with the Roadrunner Records label, and counts, in 2016, a total of seven studio albums and a DVD.

Killswitch Engage is known thanks to their album released in 2004, The End of Heartache , which reaches the 21> Billboard 200 place, and is certified by in December 2007 for more than 500,000 sales in the United States. The song The End of Heartache is nominated for the Grammy Award in 2005, and a live DVD entitled (Set This) World Ablaze was released in 2005. Killswitch Engage participates in many festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Reading and Leeds Festivals, Ozzfest, Download Festival, Rock on the Range, Mayhem Festival, Greenfield Festival and Soundwave. The band released their fifth studio album, "Killswitch Engage" , on June 30, 2009. The latest studio album is entitled Disarm the Descent , released April 2, 2013, the first since the return of Jesse Leach. In 2016, the band released a new album called Incarnate .

Killswitch Engage is formed by two groups of metalcore, Overcast and Aftershock during the late 1990s. Following the dissolution of Overcast in 1998, bassist Mike D'Antonio joins Aftershock guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz. Dutkiewicz hires guitarist Joel Stroetzel from Aftershock, and singer Jesse Leach from Nothing Stays Gold to form a new band, Killswitch Engage. The group's name is inspired by an episode of X-Files: The Frontiers of the Real originally called Kill Switch , written by William Gibson. In 1999, Killswitch Engage recorded a demo tape containing four tracks, including the first title of Killswitch Engage>. The demo tape is released on the band's first night, in the company of melodic deathcore band In Flames in November 1999 >>>. The band releases its first self-titled album the following year. Originally, the album did not achieve much success, let alone the musical rankings, but it attracts Carl Severson, a former employee of Roadrunner Records at that time. Severson presents Killswitch Engage to many Roadrunner representatives.

For a brief period in 2000 and 2001, former Overcast guitarist Pete Cortese joined Killswitch Engage, but left the band in 2001 when he became dad. Killswitch Engage begins writing his second album in November 2001. Mixed in January at Backstage Studios by producer Andy Sneap>, the album is called Gold Alive Just Breathing for the lyrics of the song Just Barely Breathing . A video of the single My Last Serenade popularizes the group, and the album reaches the 37> place of Top Heatseekers .
