Mor ve Ötesi is a rock band from Turkey. He represented this country at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest.

Mor ve Ötesi was founded in 1995 by Harun Tekin, singer and guitarist joined by drummer Kerem Kabadayı, Derin Esmer on guitar and Alper Tekin on bass. The group members met at the Deutsche Schule (German High School) in Istanbul where they attended the same classes. Mor ve Ötesi translates into French as "Violet and Beyond" but it is a word game with morötesi meaning "Ultraviolet" in Turkish.

They released their first album Şehir ("The City") in September 1996 and gave their first concert at the Technical University of Ankara in 1997. The same year, Burak Güven takes the place of Alper Tekin on bass.
