Orgy

Orgy is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California>. Orgy describes his industrial rock musical style as "death pop" . The band is best known for their cover of New Order's Blue Monday song.

Orgy was formed in 1994 by singer Jay Gordon and guitarists Amir Derakh and Ryan Shuck. Bassist Paige Haley and drummer Bobby Hewitt soon join the band. Derakh is known to have played in the 1980s in the heavy metal band Rough Cutt, and Hewitt was formerly a member of Electric Love Hogs. Gordon and Derakh were also producers of the Coal Chamber> album. In six months, Jonathan Davis, who played with Shuck in Sexart, signed Orgy at Korn's label, Elementree Records.

In 1998, Orgy released his first album, Candyass, inspired by the drag queen they met, which sold two million copies. The album includes two singles; a cover of New Order's Blue Monday, and Stitches. The song Revival involves Jonathan Davis of Korn. Orgy made his stage debut at The EdgeFest, an annual radio show in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1998. They are also participating in the Family Values ​​Tour . Orgy is invited to play the song in Opticon in the Sin Francisco episode of Charmed >>>. In late 2003, guitarists Shuck and Derakh formed a side project, Julien-K, to release electronic-oriented songs recorded within Orgy>. Jay Gordon also remixes the song Points of Authority by Linkin Park on their album Reanimation , which they renamed Pts.Of.Athrty . After the release of Vapor Transmission , Orgy leaves Reprise Records and has already broken with Elementree. Gordon launches his own independent label, D1 Music, to release his third album, Punk Statik Paranoia , in 2004.
