Pierre van dormael

Pierre van dormael Pierre Van Dormael (born May 24, 1952 and died September 3, 2008) is a Belgian musician and composer. He notably wrote the music of his brother Jaco Van Dormael's films: Toto the hero (with Michel Bouquet), The Eighth Day (with Pascal Duquenne and Daniel Auteuil) and more recently Mr. Nobody, who won the decor at the Venice Film Festival. He also wrote the music for Pierre-François Martin-Laval's film: Try me out with Julie Depardieu, Isabelle Nanty and Pierre Richard, among others.

Pierre Van Dormael died in 2008> of the consequences of a cancer, following which tribute concerts were organized to him.

His music for Mr. Nobody won the Magritte for Best Original Music during the Magritte Ceremony.
