Sabaton Sabaton is a Swedish power metal band from Falun, Dalarna. He was trained in 1999. The lyrics of their songs are mainly based on the wars that have marked history. This can be seen with their discography where all the pieces except Metal Machine , the last title of Primo Victoria, and Metal Crue, the last piece of Attero Dominatus, take their inspiration in battles, historic wars or famous leaders.

Sabaton was formed in 1999 in Falun, Dalarna. After recording their first tracks in Peter Tägtgren's studio (The Abyss) Sabaton is contacted by several labels. The group decides to sign with an Italian label that publishes at the international level the promotional CD Fist for Fight , including a cover made by the well known artist Ken Kelly.

One year after the release of the first recordings, Sabaton wishes to come back with the album Metalizer , still working with Peter Tägtgren. The album was recorded in 2002, and should have been produced by Undergroung Symphony as the first album of the band. However, after two years of waiting (during which Sabaton is the first part of many bands in Sweden), the album is abandoned. Sabaton decides to record another album. But this time, they want to achieve it themselves, without the financial support of a label.

The group publishes its first official album, Primo Victoria, and launches itself in negotiations with several international labels. They finally sign with Black Lodge, the metal division of the Sound Pollution label. In 2005, Sabaton recruited Daniel Myhr> to unload Joakim Brodén keyboards, which he was busy in addition to his singer.
